Venue Hire & Catering

Venue Hire:

9 Hour duration of which cut off time is midnight 00h00 – thereafter R 1 500 extra per hour

Venue hire is charged as follows:

  • Saturdays and a day before a public holiday – R15,000
  • Fridays, Sundays and public holidays – R9,500
  • Mondays to Thursdays – R5,000

Special Terms:

A minimum of 50 guests will be billed for weddings on a Saturday
A 15% waiter and staff service fee will be charged on all menu options


1. Booking and retainer reservation fee: Price on request
This deposit will secure your wedding date with Hakunamatata. It also serves as a breakage fee and is therefore an over and above charge to the menu option chosen. This fee of R3,000.00 is non-refundable. (Non-refundable in the event that you cancel your wedding/function)

2. First Progress Payment: Price on request
(Non-refundable in the event that you cancel your wedding/ function)

3. Second Progress Payment: 3 Months prior to your wedding / function 50% of balance of total amount quoted.
(Non-refundable in the event that you cancel your wedding)

4. Final Payment: 21 Days prior to your wedding.
Final number of guests to be confirmed, which will determine the final balance payable. The beverage deposit (bar tab limit) and all extras such as accommodation, additional meals, spa treatments, etc. are also due with this final payment. (Non-refundable in the event that you cancel your wedding/function).

  • Dressing Room on day of wedding from 08h00 am until 14h30
  • Use of one of our garden ceremony areas (or the use of an indoor venue as an alternative in the event of poor weather)

Hakunamatata is fully licensed with a well-stocked bar and therefore all beverages are to be provided by us. Wine and champagne may however be brought in, which will carry a corkage of R60.00 per 750ml bottle or a corkage of R175.00 per bottle of spirit.
You have the option of either a cash bar or you can set a limit on the bar account which will be strictly adhered to.
